Welcome to Beudy Bryn Celyn

A recently converted cow byre, set in open countryside with magnificent views across England and Wales.

The Setting

Y BeudyY Beudy (the byre) is set on a hillside, surrounded by gardens and open countryside, with views over the Shropshire Plain and towards the Welsh Hills. At the bottom of the lane (400 yds), the River Vyrnwy, Montgomery Canal and Offa's Dyke Path meet. The area is rural but not remote, the nearest "A" road being approximately 1.5 miles distant, and with easy access to the motorway network, approximately 40 mins driving time. If you're not in a hurry, why not start out earlier and take one of the quieter/scenic routes?

The area boasts a wealth of things to do and is also an ideal touring base. There is extensive information in Y Beudy for you to browse through, or we can suggest visits/itineraries. If you have a particular interest we will do our best to find information for you in advance.

Y BeudyThe nearest village (1.5 miles) is Llanymynech, which boasts, a PO/Off Licence/General Store, pubs, restaurants, garage and hairdressers.

Llanymynech is truly a village on a border - the boundary runs down the middle of the road, on the golf course you tee-off in Wales and put-out in England, and in the local hotel the front bar is in England, the back bar in Wales - very useful in the days when Wales was "dry" on Sundays!
